Thaats great, John. There's no one better to teach you to crappie fish than an old timer. Let us know how your doing and post some pics if you can.

We hit a spot for those monster gills but it's too early so we spent a few days on the Prairie River off of Big Sandy.
Nothing has moved in to the shallows but if you can find them in the main channel you can do pretty good. The tactic was to set our jigs 7 foot down under the bobber and let the slow current move it along.
A few bobbers went down ,but for the most part they just got heavy and would sit low in the water .Then we'd rear!
nothing was up is the shallows, but to stay in the deep water was the key.
It sort of helped that we had already patterened them the weekend prior.

The action on Sat. stayed pretty steady. You can tell there was a good year class as we caught
around 150 crappies and many were all 9-10 inches.

There were bigger fish too which were released.
It was great to have Mark up with us.

It was a great day to be fishing.

Sunday was another nice day weather wise. A bit cooler of a start ,but it warmed up.
So the showed started once more.
Boats came and boats left with nothing.
We pounded out another 100 today and left by 2pm.
Just about everything was released today ,but we did keep a few.

On the way out I got a few pics of this guy.
